There’s much more to India than merely being the land of some of the greatest mythological stories ever told— it’s the land of some of the biggest mysteries as well. From the tiny village where most of the population comprises of twins, to the controversial history of one of the seven wonders of the world, Taj Mahal, India is home to some biggest puzzles of the world. Here are six such unsolved mysteries of India:
1. Kodinhi — The twin village in Kerala.
This tiny village in Kerala has a population of around 2000, and there are 200 pairs of twins in this number. Scientists still can’t seem to figure out the reason for such a large number of twin population in this area.

2. Prahlad Jani— The man who can live without food and water.
Prahlad Jani, also known as Mataji is a Sadhu, from Gujarat, and claims to have survived without food and water since 1940.

3. Yeti— The abominable snowman.
The ape-man who’s taller than an average human has been sighted a couple of times in the Himalayas. Due to lack of any conclusive evidence, Yeti is considered to be a legend by the scientists, but the locals believe otherwise.

4. Roopkund Lake— The lake of skeletons.
This lake in Uttarakhand is popular for one more reason apart from its scenic beauty— skeletons. Roopkund lake is filled with numerous human skeletons with no relevant explanation behind it.

5. Kuldhara — The cursed village.
A small village in Rajasthan, which lies in ruins now was once supposed to be full of people. The entire population got wiped out overnight allegedly because of a curse.

6. Taj Mahal— The epitome of love or A Shiva temple.
According to Professor PN Oak, Taj Mahal, one of the seven wonders of the world, was actually a Shiva temple called Tejo Mahalaya. It was captured by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan and converted into a mausoleum.
